Chateau Beausoleil Blanquette de Limoux Brut Reserve
Blanquet de Limoux stakes its claim over Champagne, Cava and Prosecco as the first sparkling wine ever produced. Tradtionally made from the Blanquette variety (more commonly known as Mauzac), this unique AOC is named for that grape and the town in which it was originally produced, Limoux.
Blanquette de Limoux is made from 90% Mauzac grapes with 5% each Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. It is not as dry or fruit forward as a Champagne. For some reason the Chenin Blanc comes through in the aftertaste.
